National Grid Helicopters Will Begin Aerial Inspections Monday
The utility is conducting a survey of its high-voltage lines.

National Grid will begin aerial inspections of all high-voltage power lines on Monday, June 8.
The inspections, which are expected to continue until mid-August, will involved helicopters flying low over Marblehead and other towns throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. The inspections will involve continuous infra-red imaging.
According to a police log note, National Grid’s certified contractor, JBI Helicopters of New Hampshire, will be performing the aerial inspection using its Bell Jet-Ranger helicopter fleet. The helicopters are primarily painted blue and yellow with occasional red or yellow striping.
