Police: Jackhammering Pools; Crosswalk Incident

Thursday, August 20
At 11:10 a.m., a van backed into a parked car on Bayview Road and drove off.
At 11:37 a.m., someone called to report jackhammering of a pool at a house on Leicester Road with no proper abatement measures being taken. The Board of Health was notified.

At 2:29 p.m., a car was hit in a parking lot on Lafayette Street.
At 4:57 p.m., a caller on Village Street reported an attempted fraud by phone by someone claiming to be from the IRS.

At 8:35 p.m., a woman reported that while she was crossing Washington Street, she motioned at the driver of a jeep to slow down while she was in the crosswalk and the man yelled at her. She said she wanted to report her side of the story in case the man made a complaint.

At 7:40 a.m., there was a report of a sailboat on the beach on Harbor Avenue.
