Police: More Suspicious Vans; Warrant Arrest

Excerpts from the Marblehead Police Department log.

Thursday, Sept. 17

At 10:09 a.m., there was a report of beer cans on the roof of a school on Pleasant Street.

At 10:51 a.m., there was a report of suspicious activity on Clifton Avenue. Two young men with a van were seen packing up furniture. The men turned out to be repairing a deck on the street.

At 12:43 p.m., there was a report of a suspicious white van parked in the middle of the street on Wheeler Place with a man going from house to house with a handheld device.

At 4:46 p.m., a bicyclist who fell off his bike was transported to Salem Hospital.

At 6:24 p.m., plates were reported stolen from a motor vehicle on Beacon Street.

At 7:13 p.m., there was a report of a burning odor on Lincoln Avenue, but nothing was found.

At 7:37 p.m., there was a report of a suspicious dark-colored van in a lot on Brook Road. It was most likely a school van.

At 8:24 p.m., there was a report of a car doing donuts on Village Street.

At 10:31 p.m., police arrested Xavier K. Karanja, 19, of 435 Essex St., #1 in Lynn on a warrant.
