Police Warn of New Phone Scam

Marblehead Police are warning of a new phone scam brought to their attention by an alert resident.

Recently, a resident was contacted and asked to donate money for some type of poster that would contain sports schedules for the sports team at Marblehead High School.

The resident was also told that they had donated before, which was not the case.

After a call was placed to the school by police, the resident was advised that it was a scam and not to donate.

“We all work too hard for our money, this alert citizen felt something was wrong and investigated and shared what they learned with the school and police,” stated police on their Facebook page.
