Sagan Realtors has named A Bed for Every Child its charity of choice by supporting its campaign to raise funds to gift 250 beds to 250 kids his holiday season. “We all remember the joy of being tucked in a warm bed and are proud to support an organization that created an initiative to make sure all children get a good night’s sleep. A Bed for Every Child was created to help the growing number of children living in poverty have a twin bed of their own where they can get a good sleep, an essential ingredient for well-being. Recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau notes that one in seven children in Massachusetts is living in poverty. The initiative, which is part of The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, was founded in 2011 when advocates learned that many students in local public schools were not getting a good night's sleep because they did not have their own bed to sleep in at night.
“Since we launched the program we have distributed over 3,600 new twin beds to children living in poverty in the Commonwealth,” said Robyn Frost, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. “Unfortunately, the need for beds has outpaced our ability to raise the critically needed funding for this program to expand. With the holiday season right around the corner, A Bed for Every Child created a campaign 250 Beds for 250 Kids this holiday season,” says Frost.

Frost notes that the holiday campaign is the first milestone in a larger campaign to raise money for 1,500 beds over the next year. “We are looking for individuals and businesses to help us reach our goal.
