Information and applications are available now at COA for this Tax-relief program for up to 30 eligible Marblehead senior citizens
Information and Applications for Marblehead’s 2017 Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off Program are now available at the Marblehead Council on Aging. Eligible taxpayers over age 60 who are the owners (or spouse of owner), who occupy the property to be credited, and whose incomes fall below $46,300 for a household of one or $52,950 for a household of two, may volunteer their services to the Town in exchange for a credit on the last two quarters of their 2017 property tax bills. Only one credit is available per household per year. A maximum of $750 will be credited at a rate of the 2017 minimum wage (currently $10 per hour in 2016) per hour volunteered. Applications will be accepted through January 27, 2017 at the COA, Marblehead Senior Center, 10 Humphrey Street. Applications received after the January 27th deadline will be considered on a first-come first-served basis.
