State Renews Charter for Marblehead Community Charter School

The state granted the renewal during a ceremony in Marblehead on Monday.

Marblehead Community Charter School was among the 19 charter schools in the state to receive charter renewals during a ceremony held at the Marblehead school on Monday, May. 4

According to a Department of Elementary and Secondary Education press release, the ceremony also marked the 20-year anniversary of charter school operation in Massachusetts. Marblehead Community Charter School is one of the 14 schools celebrating its 20th year of operation.

All charter schools are chartered for five years, the press release explained. At the end of that time, the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education reviews the school’s performance and determines whether to renew the charter.
