Three Arrested For Breaking and Entering Following Foot Chase
Marblehead police get assistance from citizens and other local law enforcement departments.

Three people were arrested after a two-hour search and a foot chase on Tuesday night after allegedly breaking into two homes off the West Shore Drive corridor.
Shortly after 8 p.m., police were dispatched to a burglar alarm activation at a private home on Lorraine Terrace where officers found that the house had been broken into using forced entry.
While Marblehead detectives were processing the scene on Lorraine Terrace, officers spoke to a resident who gave them a description of three men on bicycles who were seen in the area shortly before the alarm call.

The description of the possible suspects was broadcast to Marblehead, Salem, and Swampscott police and a K9 unit from Salem was sent to Marblehead to help with the search.
While officers were searching the surrounding neighborhoods and the old railroad right-of-ways, a second break-in was reported from residents on Waterside Road, which is also off the West Shore Drive corridor.

After nearly two hours of searching and a foot pursuit, the three suspects were taken into custody and booked at the Marblehead Police station.
Two suspects from Salem, aged 17 & 19 were unable to make bail and will be transported to Lynn District and Lynn Juvenile Courts later this morning.
The juvenile was charged with two counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, larceny from a building, and possession of burlarious tools.
Edimir Abraham Breton, 19, of Sal Auburn Street in Salem was charged with two counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony and larceny from a building.
The third suspect, a 22 year old homeless male from Peabody, who also could not make bail, will also be arraigned at Lynn District Court today.
Yardley Martin Taveras, 22, homeless of Peabody was charged with two counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime.
While some property has been recovered, officers will be canvassing many areas including the railroad right-of-way on Wednesday morning looking for more property and evidence.
If anyone finds any property or items that seem out of place in their yards or along the trail, please don’t touch it and contact Marblehead Police at (781) 631-1212 so an officer can be dispatched to recover it.
Marblehead police stated this is another good example of the law enforcement mutual aid system in action, it’s also an example of just how well Marblehead citizens and the police work together. Without the information from the citizen and the description of the suspects, it’s doubtful that these three would have been apprehended, according to police.
