Thrown Snowballs and a Gun Pulled

A man says the gun was not real.

Wednesday, March 27

  • At 9:25 a.m., police received a report of a lost brown wallet on Sewall Street.
  • At 10:05 p.m., a person on Pleasant Street flagged down police and reported that youth were giving people a hard time.

Thursday, March 28

  • At 6:30 a.m., police received a report from Glendale Road that the back window of a car had been smashed during the night. It did not appear that anything was taken.
  • At 8:02 p.m., a Humphrey Street caller reported that the rear window on her vehicle was smashed.
  • At 8:25 p.m., a Broughton Road caller said she needed a cruiser at the house because her 17-year-old daughter refused to go to school. Police responded but told the caller that they could not make a 17-year-old go to school.
  • At 11:16 a.m., a Cedar Street caller reported a GPS was stolen from his vehicle overnight.
  • At 12:08 p.m., a person reported responding to a Craig's List ad for an apartment for rent on Elm Street. It appeared to be a scam, the caller said.
  • At 5:20 p.m., a Sagamore Road man reported that kids were throwing snowballs. The man told an officer that "if the kids say I pointed a gun at them, it wasn't a real gun." Police went to the post office and talked to youth. They said the individual pulled a gun out of his waistband and they got scared and ran. Police reported returning to Sagamore to follow up on this matter.
  • At 5:28 p.m., police received a report from a father who is out of state. The father said his daughter had called him, upset over a report that five teens had gone through their house and ransacked a shed in the backyard.
