Trouble The Dog to Bring Hope to Foster Children This Holiday
All children should be able to experience the wonder and magic this time of year brings. You can make a difference for kids who need hope.
More than 300 children in our communities will be separated from their homes and families for the holidays this year. The number of local children affected is staggering. These children are from Marblehead, Salem, Beverly, Danvers, Hamilton, Wenham, Essex, Peabody, Manchester, Middleton, Rockport and Gloucester. They will be in the care of the Cape Ann, Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Not all children will be able to enjoy the love and security of family during the holidays, but there is a way that you can help – by giving them something of their very own to hold. The people behind Trouble the Dog, a proven comfort toy for children, have been working with the Cape Ann DCF to get plush Trouble dogs into the arms of as many of these children as possible.
DCF’s mission is to ensure that children are able to grow and thrive in a nurturing home environment. This sometimes requires the difficult decision of removing a child from his or her home. According to Carla King, Cape Ann Department of Children and Families, “This year, we expect to have more than 300 children in our care during the holidays. It would be wonderful to have enough Trouble plush toys to give to every child in our care to keep as their own.”

You can also request a Trouble plush dog for a child by mail. Checks can be made payable to: Larkin LTD/DCF and sent to: PO Box 1272 Marbehead, MA 01945.
We’ll handle the shipping and deliver the plush toy dogs directly from Trouble HQ to the children at DCF.
