• 'A man for the people': Marion director to release short film celebrating Paul Cuffe (theweektoday.com) — A Marion-based filmmaker is releasing a short film about Revolutionary War-era mariner and community leader Paul Cuffe, inspired in part by recent conversations on race and representation. Drawing on the South Coast’s history and scenery, she shot the project while living full-time in Marion. The film, “Cuffe: Taxed,” premieres Aug. 13 at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

• OBITUARY: William 'Bill' T. Hurley III (hinghamanchor.com) — An accomplished Tabor Academy alumnus who graduated in Marion in 1957, William “Bill” Hurley III is remembered for his devotion to family, faith, and community. The obituary traces his journey from Taunton and Tabor to Harvard and a long investment career, highlighting his decades of service on Tabor’s Board of Trustees. Family and friends will gather in Hingham for services next week.
