• Structure fire caused by cigarette on Point Road, no injuries (theweektoday.com) — A late-night house fire on Point Road in Marion Saturday left a rental home temporarily uninhabitable but caused no injuries to the five people inside. Fire Chief Brian Jackvony says an improperly discarded cigarette on the deck sparked the blaze, prompting a multi-town response and a reminder for residents to fully extinguish smoking materials away from structures.
