3 Suspects Caught After Attempted Vehicle Theft, Crash In Marlborough
Police say an attempted car theft at Marlborough's Ghiloni Park ended with a crash, a wooded search and three arrests.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — An attempted vehicle theft at Ghiloni Park on Sunday set off a regional police search that ended with three suspects in custody, according to Marlborough Police.
Police said officers were called to the park, at 239 Concord Rd, at about 1:28 p.m. for a reported attempted vehicle theft. A man told police he was resting inside his parked vehicle when a masked person opened the driver's door.
When the suspect realized the vehicle was occupied, he ran to a waiting vehicle and left the area, according to police.

A short time later, officers tried to stop a vehicle matching the victim's description, police said. The driver fled and nearly struck an officer who was working a traffic detail and trying to stop the vehicle.
Police said the vehicle later crashed and overturned on Parmenter Road, and all three occupants ran into a nearby wooded area.

Investigators determined the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier Sunday in Wayland, according to police.
Marlborough Police said patrol officers, detectives, K-9 teams and aviation units launched a large search and set up a perimeter in the area. All three suspects were later found and taken into custody, police said.
One adult suspect faces charges including attempted carjacking, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, breaking and entering a motor vehicle for a felony, conspiracy, assault with a dangerous weapon and multiple motor vehicle violations, according to police. Two juvenile suspects were also taken into custody.
Police have not yet released the names of those taken into custody.
Marlborough Police thanked K-9 Enzo and Officer Martins, the Framingham Police Department K-9 Unit, the Hudson Police Department K-9 Unit, the Massachusetts State Police K-9 Unit, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing and the Wayland Police Department for helping in the search.
Police also thanked the Hudson Police Department and Sudbury Police Department for assisting with calls for service and backup coverage in Marlborough while officers were tied up with the search.
