5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 30

Mosquito spraying begins today, the Labor Day parade is fast-approaching and the city establishes a waste collection hotline.

 

1. The Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project will be spraying for mosquitoes in Marlborough on Monday, after a mosquito collected in Sudbury last week tested positive for eastern equine encephalitis (EEE). A map of the areas to be sprayed can be found online; residents are asked to contact the CMMCP with questions or concerns at (508) 393-3055. 

2. The city has established a dedicated hotline for questions about the new solid waste collection system. The number is (508) 624-6910 ext 7300 during business hours and (508) 624-6910 ext 7700 during non-business hours.

5. After a soggy and overcast weekend, the weather looks better for the week ahead. Weather.com says mostly sunny skies will dominate through Thursday, with temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s and only a slight chance of thunderstorms each day.
