New Creamery Takes Over Longtime Central MA Ice Cream Spot
A new ice cream shop is continuing a longtime tradition at a familiar Millbury location.
MILLBURY, MA — A new ice cream shop is continuing a longtime tradition at a familiar West Street location.
Blackstone Creamery celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday at 22 West St. The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce organized the event and welcomed the business to the region.
The shop took over the former Christopher’s Homemade Ice Cream space after that business closed following 13 years in operation. The previous owners planned to help Blackstone Creamery through the transition, according to the Blackstone Valley Xpress.
Blackstone Creamery received local approval earlier this year. The Millbury Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 on May 12 to approve the company’s common victualler license, pending inspections and paperwork, according to meeting minutes.
