MARLBOROUGH, MA — Memorial Beach in Marlborough is closed on Wednesday while Fort Meadow Reservoir undergoes a lake weed treatment.
The closure was scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, as the reservoir is treated to control invasive, non-native weeds that can interfere with boating, swimming and fishing if left unchecked, according to a Marlborough Recreation Department notice.
Hudson Recreation also said Fort Meadow Reservoir would be chemically treated on Wednesday for nuisance aquatic vegetation and algae, according to a public notice from the department.
WWII Memorial Beach, located on Causeway Street, normally has public swimming hours from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. seven days a week during the season, according to the city’s facility page.
The beach includes a parking lot, playground, restrooms, walking track and basketball court.
