MARLBOROUGH, MA — A wounded hawk got a helping hand from Marlborough police last week after officers found the bird in need of a rescue.
Officers Halper and Brine responded on Friday to assist the injured hawk, which appeared to have a broken leg, according to the Marlborough Police Department. The officers safely captured the bird and brought it to the Tufts Wildlife Clinic in Grafton, where wildlife professionals were expected to provide care.
The department called the rescue an example of the many ways officers serve the community, including helping the wildlife that shares it.
Police wished the hawk a full and speedy recovery.
