MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough-based bank has officially named its newest leader.
St. Mary's Credit Union began a new leadership chapter by appointing Brenda Diepold as president and CEO. She took over the role on Monday, bringing 32 years of banking experience to the Marlborough-based credit union.
Diepold spent the past eight years in senior leadership at HarborOne Bank and has experience in strategic growth, organizational transformation and community-focused financial services, according to the bank's Monday announcement.
Meanwhile, longtime St. Mary's leader Jim Petkewich will remain with the credit union as special advisor to the CEO and board through his planned retirement in February 2027.
Petkewich has served St. Mary's and the MetroWest community for more than 20 years. The credit union credited him with providing leadership and continuity during its recent merger with MetroWest Community Federal Credit Union.
"A new chapter begins at St. Mary's Credit Union," the business wrote in the announcement. "Please join us in welcoming Brenda and thanking Jim for his extraordinary service to SMCU and our community."
