BBB Warns Community of Chic 2 Chic's Recent Closing

Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern MA, ME, RI & VT (BBB) is warning the community about Chic 2 Chic, Inc., a local consignment shop out of Foxborough MA. It appears that the business has suddenly gone out of business without any warning to consignors.

There is a notice on Chic 2 Chic’s website that states that the business is permanently closed, but not much else. According to Chic 2 Chic’s website, there are over 20,000 consignors with the business. There is no information on what these consignors should expect to be done with their items, or when/if they can expect payment.

“Chic 2 Chic only has one location in Foxborough,” says Paula Fleming, spokesperson for the local BBB. “Consignors are left with no information on their items or their rightful balances.”

BBB has received six complaints in the past week, all closed as Unpursuable, seeing as the consignment shop appears to be out of business.

One complaint filed by a consignor mentioned that the business owed them a balance of $96 worth of merchandise. The complaint states that the owner shut the store down with no notice. Many complaints mention being given a list from Chic 2 Chic of all items consigned along the value of each which proves the amount owed to them.
