Last Stretch Of Exit Renumbering To Start In Marlborough: MassDOT
A statewide exit renumbering project will come to I-290 and I-395 in August.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A MassDOT project to renumber exit signs along interstate highways across Massachusetts is coming to an end with I-290 and I-395.
Beginning Aug. 8*, MassDOT will begin replacing signs between Marlborough and Webster (I-290 changes to I-395 south of Worcester) so they match will mileposts.
Before the project began, exit signs in Massachusetts were numbered sequentially. The change was mandated by the Federal Highway Administration. The renumbering project began in late 2020 along the Mass Pike and Route 6 near Cape Cod.
