Holy Cross Men's Basketball Travels To Lafayette On Wednesday

The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play its second straight road game this week, when it travels to Lafayette at 7:00 p.m.

The Holy Cross men’s basketball team will play its second straight road game this week, when it travels to Lafayette for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday, Jan. 13. The game between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be televised on the Lafayette Sports Network, and can also be seen live on the internet through the Patriot League Network. In addition, the game will air on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester and on SiriusXM Satellite Radio (Sirius 119).

Holy Cross enters the contest with an overall record of 7-8 and a 2-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have won four of their last six games, but are coming off a 98-71 setback at Bucknell on Saturday. Holy Cross is currently in a four-way tie for fourth place in the Patriot League with Army, Colgate and Lehigh.

Junior guard Robert Champion currently leads the team by averaging 12.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. Freshman forward Karl Charles has also been playing well, with averages of 11.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per contest. Junior forward Malachi Alexander has added 10.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while senior guard Cullen Hamilton is chipping in with 9.7 points and 2.4 boards per contest.

Lafayette stands 4-11 overall this season with a 1-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Leopards have dropped four of their last five games, and are coming off a 68-47 loss at Boston University on Saturday. Junior guard Nick Lindner currently leads the team by averaging 17.1 points and 4.5 assists per game. Senior guard Bryce Scott has added 13.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest, while sophomore forward Matt Klinewski is averaging 13.1 points and 5.9 boards per game.

After the contest at Lafayette, the Crusaders will return home to play host to Lehigh on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1:05 p.m.
