MARLBOROUGH, MA — A hospital campus in Marlborough will soon get an upgrade after a generous donation.

UMass Memorial Health has received a $100,000 gift from Main Street Group Foundation, the charitable arm of Main Street Bank, the hospital group announced on Friday. The funding will go toward the expansion and renovation of the emergency department at UMass Memorial Medical Center's Marlborough Campus, located at 157 Union St.

The project will renovate and expand the emergency department, adding 10 brand-new treatment rooms and converting 3 existing rooms into convertible rooms for larger patients, along with 2 new dedicated trauma rooms. The expansion will nearly double the size of the hospital's emergency room.
