ICYMI: Marlborough, The City Is Pulling A Switcheroo On Your Trash Day

Take note: there's a trash day that's moving for good.

MARLBOROUGH, MA— Mayor Arthur Vigeant recently announced that the city of Marlborough is moving trash and recycling pick up to Tuesdays from its current Friday pick up.

Tuesday pickups will begin on Tuesday, June 6.

“This change will move trash and recycling pickup to a day that is more convenient for our
residents and staff at Public Works," said the mayor in a statement. "Also, unlike many other communities that charge a fee for, or do not provide, curbside pickup, we are pleased to be able to continue to offer this service at no additional cost to taxpayers."

“Many residents have complained when we have Saturday pickups due to holidays or snow days during the week. This change means a delayed pickup will still be on a weekday rather than on a weekend. Moving pickup to Tuesdays will also enable our team at DPW and Republic Services to more quickly respond to missed collections and resolve issues,” said Public Works Commissioner John Ghiloni in a statement.
