ICYMI: Stuff-A-Bus For Community Cupboard In Marlborough A 'Stupendous Success'

More than 2,800 pounds of food was donated for this annual fundraiser.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—More than 2,800 pounds of donations were delivered to Marlborough Community Cupboard as a result of the Stuff-A-Bus 2017 Project. This year, all of Marlborough Public Schools got behind this significant effort and stuffed a bus with nonperishable food items.

“I am grateful to Marlborough Public School’s (MPS) support and Reina Rago, Communications Coordinator for MPS, for her willingness to help promote awareness of the food drive. Each school within the district contributed with an abundance of donations from Jaworek Elementary School and Whitcomb School who deserve a special ‘shout out’,” stated Barbara LaGrenade, director of the Marlborough Community Cupboard, in the announcement.

According to Cathy Donohue, the parent volunteer who coordinated this year’s food drive, “Stuff-A-Bus wouldn’t be a unique initiative without a bus, and NRT Bus company once again provided the school bus and driver.”

“This year’s Stuff-A-Bus food drive was especially successful because of how the community came together and how the school building facilitators, PTO’s, and Student Councils, orchestrated this massive effort,” said LeGrenade in a statement. The Marlborough Community Cupboard is a direct service of the United Way of Tri County. A ten-year tradition, the Stuff-A-Bus food drive is a demonstration of how students, teachers, and families respond to a rallying cry to help families in need.
