Introducing Phase I Of Walker Building Redevelopment Study

Marlborough Economic Development Corporation recently released its initial study regarding redeveloping the Walker Building.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Recently the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation released a comprehensive study digging into the possibilities and challenges for redeveloping the Walker Building in Marlborough.

The city is considering options for the building, which may in the future include continued ownership by the city or preparation of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for disposition and redevelopment by a private entity, said the report.

"The report includes an assessment of the current condition of the building and the feasibility of redevelopment," said the introduction. " The report considers a range of potential uses and presents conceptual redevelopment plans for selected options that most closely meet the redevelopment goals.

The Walker Building is the site of the old high school. The building is classic revival and has three stories with 15,325 square feet per floor, and sits on 1.43 acres at 255 Main St.
