The MEDC is promoting the live event on social media and has also targeted local schools and colleges. In addition, the MEDC has started a program called “Inside the Industry” where they will feature guest speakers from a local company who give a sample of what it is like to work in the organization, what type of openings are available and qualifications needed.
The first livestream event was held on October 19th on Facebook with Quest Diagnostics. To access, visit www.youtube.com/marlboroughedc
“We are really excited to be able to assist employers with finding good talent. For example, Quest Diagnostics at the time of our livestream event, had close to 200 entry level and mid-level positions available. We look forward to seeing results and to being able to assist more companies in this format,” cited MEDC Executive Director Meredith Harris. “There’s a misconception that there is a lack of job opportunities out there, and that is really not the case, especially here in Marlborough. We have employers calling us for help to find job candidates in a variety of industries, and that has never happened before,” said Mayor Arthur G. Vigeant.
