An Iliad, by Denis O’Hare and Lisa Peterson, is a play originally written for a solo performer. The single character is a poet who has told the story of the Trojan War for thousands of years and now tells it to us, a modern audience, while asking us to look at our own collective addiction to rage and violence. In Lawrence Academy’s (Groton, MA) production of the play, the epic tale is tackled by an ensemble of eleven student actors.
For more on the play, please read the alumni-written preview by Kacey Hartner ‘13 (Pepperell).
The public is invited to enjoy this production. Admission is free and the facility is handicap accessible. For directions and more info about LA, visit www.lacademy.edu/direction; for more information about the play, contact director Joel Sugerman at jsugerman@lacademy.edu or 978-448-1601.
