Man Tried Breaking Into 2 Apartments In One Day: Marlboro Police

In each instance, the man ran when he saw there was someone in the apartment.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Lynn man tried breaking into two Marlborough apartments in one day, according to police. The man knocked on two doors in The Heights at Marlborough Apartments on Friday, attempting to break into both, police said. The man ran when he noticed there were people in both apartments, according to police.

The man, identified as Igor Nunez, tried breaking into two different apartments on Friday afternoon. Police said he knocked on the door of the first apartment asking for a copy of the light bill. When no one answered, police say he opened the door. There was a woman who lived in the apartment home and she told police she noticed the door was open and when the man saw her, he ran away, not yet entering the apartment, police said.

The man tried for a second time to break into an apartment in the same building, police said. He again, knocked on the door and there was also a woman inside of the second apartment. When no one answered he opened the door and peeked his head inside, police said. When he saw the woman who lived there, he again took off, police said.

Police were able to find and stop him across the way on Hosmer Street and arrested him. Nunez was charged with breaking and entering in the daylight, attempting to commit a crime and disturbing the peace.
