Marlborough Company Lands NSF Grant

octoScope, Inc., a Marlborough company that makes testing equipment for wireless devices, said it has received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. 

Octoscope said it would partner with the University of New Hampshire to carry out the NSF grant  aimed at advancing wireless certification test methodology.

Presidnet Fanny Minarsky said the research is aimed at simplifying the costly and time-consuming process of testing wireless devices and network. 

 "Certification of next generation devices is an expensive and time-consuming process," she said. "The outcome of this research will have a significant impact on the cost of testing and validation"

The company said its reseach has the potential of reducing cost of wireless device certification, which in turn could help make broadband connectivity more affordable to a wider population.

octoScope offers wireless test solutions and services to companies building or deploying modern communications devices and networks, including LTE and Wi-Fi.
