Marlborough Jim Forrest Road Race Returns In 2021
The athletic event, featuring a 5K race and other activities, benefits Thrive Support & Advocacy.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — A road race tradition will return to Marlborough this fall when the 37th Forrest Memorial Road Race kicks off on Sept. 26.
The 2021 event, named for Jim Forrest, a former firefighter and Councilor, will support Thrive Support & Advocacy's programs — including Special Olympics athletes. Forrest founded the race 37 years ago to support the Boys and Girls Club, and later Thrive Support & Advocacy (previously known as Greater Marlboro Programs).
The Jim Forrest race is now Thrive's largest annual fundraiser. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to coronavirus.
