Marlborough Man Arrested Again On Child Porn Charges

Philip Raymond, 63, was arrested on Feb. 7 on ten charges. He is also facing porn possession charges after a 2019 arrest.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A 63-year-old Marlborough man was arrested for the second time on Friday for possession of child porn, according to Marlborough police and Middlesex DA Marian Ryan. Philip Raymond was arrested last March in a separate case for possession of child porn.

The newest charges are connected to Raymond's March 2019 arrest. Last year, police searched Raymond's Marlborough home and found several computer devices with encrypted files. Raymond is an expert in bitcoin and co-chaired the Cryptocurrency Standards Association, according to his Linkedin profile.

After getting a search warrant in December, state police, the U.S. Secret Service, and local officials were able to access those files. Police found explicit images of 11 young girls who Raymond knew, according to a statement released Friday.

Raymond was arraigned Friday on charges of posing a nude child, aggravated rape of a child with force, aggravated indecent assault and battery on a person under 14, and a charge of posing a child in a sexual act, according to the DA's office. He was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
