MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough teen going for his Eagle Scout rank completed a community service project at Stevens Park, sprucing up several buildings at the facility.

Codey Daly, a senior at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, painted the combination bathroom and snack bar, and a shipping container at the park used for storage.

"Amazing how just a few coats of paint and effort can change how something looks," the Marlborough Recreation Department wrote in a Facebook post sharing pictures of Daly's work.

The public service project is typically the last step for a Boy Scout to achieve the Eagle Scout status.

Daly was active in the community before his work at Stevens Park. Last fall, he and his classmates built a 500-square-foot home for a Maine veteran. The home was delivered in time for Veterans Day in 2019.
