MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough Police Department is warning residents that they may hear loud, controlled detonations over the coming week as scheduled disposal operations take place nearby

The controlled detonations are scheduled to occur Thursday, Apr. 23, through Friday, May 1, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on South Post at Devens Reserve Forces Training Area, which is located at 31 Quebec St. in Devens, police said.

The disposal site is cordoned off and secured, with strict safety protocols in place during all operations.

Controlled detonations are used by military and explosives safety teams to safely dispose of or neutralize explosive materials that cannot be moved or dismantled safely.
