Marlborough Postpones Late Fees On Excise Tax Bills
Marlborough is essentially giving residents more time to pay tax bills due to problems surrounding coronavirus.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant is giving residents some breathing room on paying excise tax bills. A late demand fee that would normally go on unpaid bills in March is being pushed back to April 30.

Today, Mayor Arthur Vigeant and Collector Eileen Bristol have announced that the City of Marlborough will delay the date in which motor vehicle excise demand fees are applied until April 30. Motor Vehicle excise bills were due on March 20 with a $15 demand fee set to be applied on March 27.

“During difficult and trying times, providing relief to the residents of Marlborough is the main objective of my office, city staff, and the city council. Extending the excise demand deadline is just one way to be of assistance while staying within the guidelines of the law,” Vigeant said.
The City of Marlborough will continue to work with our community, state, and federal partners to stay informed and will continue to update residents when new information becomes available. We ask that you stay diligent regarding suggested preventative measures such as hand washing and social distancing.
