Marlborough Woman First $1 Million Winner in New Mass. Scratch Ticket Game

A Marlborough woman is the first winner in a new instant lottery game from the Massachusetts State Lottery.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough resident is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts Lottery's newest scratch ticket game.

Mary O’Malley of Marlborough scratched off a $1 million prize winner on the new “$2,500,000 Holiday Magic” instant game that went on sale Nov. 1.

O’Malley chose the annuity option on her prize and received the first of 20 annual payments of $50,000, minus the taxes, said the announcement. Her winning ticket was purchased at Jim’s Variety & Package, 15 West Farms Road, Northampton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
