Marlborough's Garden Remedies Expands To Offer Medical Marijuana
Garden Remedies is the city's only dispensary and started with only recreational sales.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough's first marijuana dispensary has expanded it's sales to include medical marijuana. Garden Remedies opened in the city in June and only sold recreational marijuana — but last week the Cannabis Control Commission gave the dispensary the green light to sell medical marijuana as well. Sales began on Tuesday.
Garden Remedies, located at Marlboro Square Plaza on Rte. 20, passed its final inspection for medical sales and hit the ground running, the way it initially opened, by accepting walk-in sales. For medical marijuana sales, the dispensary does require state-issued patient cards and identification.
The dispensary accepts walk-ins for both recreational and medical marijuana sales, with two separate lines for customers depending on which category they fall into.

Unlike some other recreational dispensaries in the state (Brookline's NETA, Leicester's Cultivate) Garden Remedies has an onsite parking lot. A police detail officer directs traffic in and out of the 200-space parking lot located next to the dispensary.
The Fitchburg based company had a special permit approved by city councilors in November for the dispensary. The 3,100-square-foot building sits in one of the city's two adult-use and medical marijuana regulated zones. The company has a cultivation and processing facility in Fitchburg and two other dispensaries, one in Melrose and one in Newton.
