Public Hearing On Municipal Aggregation Plan For Marlborough
The Department of Public Utilities has a meeting planned to address issues regarding the proposed municipal electrical aggregation plan.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—In April, the city's Department of Public Utilities applied for an amendment to its municipal aggregation plan, which was approved. It approved the option to fund an energy manager and to add a renewable energy product.
The city secured Colonial Power Group to help implement this municipal electric aggregation program.
The Department of Public Utilities is holding a public hearing to receive comments on this proposed municipal aggregation plan Thursday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at One South Station, 5th Floor, Boston.

The Marlborough Community Choice Power Supply Program is a municipal aggregation program that enables local government to combine the purchasing power of its residents and businesses so that it can provide them with an alternative electricity supply, said the program. Once in place, the local government can monitor and set its own energy related goals for the program such as savings, stability or green options.
This program only affects the supply portion of your monthly bill. National Grid will continue to deliver electricity but Marlborough, using a competitive bid process, has chosen the supplier for the Program.
The City of Marlborough also announced that TransCanada Power Marketing Ltd., based in Westboro, has been selected as the supplier for its Program.
