Scammers Pretending to be Marlborough Police
Scammers are using the Marlborough Police Department number to tell callers that there is a warrant out for their arrest.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough police are warning residents that they have recently received multiple reports of a phone scam.
Scammers trying to get money are “spoofing” the Marlborough Police Departments phone number 508-485-1212, which will show up on the caller ID. The scammer then tells you that there is a warrant for your arrest, along with an outstanding credit balance. He or she will then provide you with a phone number to a “credit agency,” to make payment. Be advised that the caller might know your name and address, said police.
"Please do not fall for this scam," said the Marlborough Police Department. "We will never call someone who has a warrant and request money."
