Spraying For Mosquitoes Continues In Marlborough

The spraying continues in an effort to diminish these little buggers.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—Some areas have already been hit, but the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Project has more dates during which it will be spraying in Marlborough.

Spraying, which is done using hand or truck-mounted equipment, takes place on June 21 and 28 in the city.

A detailed notice about the project's spray schedule is posted on the CMMCP phone system after 3:30 p.m. each day, and it is also listed on its website.

Requests for service may be recorded by calling the CMMCP office at 508-393-3055 between 7 a.m. and 3:30
p.m., Monday through Friday, or logging on to http://ww.cmmcp.org.

Results of these requests may initiate an application of mosquito insecticides to defined, site-specific areas of town, said the announcement.

According to the notice,"Wide Area Applications of pesticides and mosquito control applications of pesticides approved by the State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board shall not be made to private property which has been designated for exclusion from such application by a person living on or legally in control of said property."

Notices were sent to all City and Town Clerks on Jan. 20 to alert them of changes to the
pesticide exclusion process.
