Straight Outta Marlborough: Famous Faces from Your Hometown
Did you know that one of the 'Desperate Housewives' is from Marlborough?
MARLBOROUGH, MA—Before she starred on Melrose Place and before you knew her from Desperate Housewives, Marcia Cross was living in Marlborough. Cross grew up in Marlborough, and graduated from Marlborough High School in 1980 before heading to Juilliard for acting.
It served her well. Cross landed a role as Dr. Kimberly Shaw on "Melrose Place" in the mid-'90s following a spot in the cast of Knots Landing, and then starred as Bree Van de Kamp on the "Desperate Housewives" series, starting in 2005 and for several seasons. The role garnered her three Golden Globe awards and five Screen Actor Guild Awards.
