Photography Class: Introduction to the traditional wet print. Even if you're a digital photographer, the darkroom is a great place to visit to check your fundamentals and consolidate your vision. This is a user-friendly immersion into the old method for making gelatin silver prints. Starting with square portraits under a single light and expanding to subjects of interest to the class, we'll get busy immediately developing 35mm and medium format Black & White film and making large proof prints on resin-coated (RC) paper using the Ilford Multicontrast filter set. Students will come away with a mastery of the basic steps for developing their own negatives and independently achieving a strong print in the darkroom.  (Bring your favorite old or new 35mm or medium format film camera; house equipment includes a Hasselblad 500 C/M, Pentax 6x7, Pentax Spotmatic and Nikon FE which will be available to use during sessions.)
