Alora! E’Pasta!   Hey! It’s Pasta!

There are many stigmas that exist for many home cooks regarding making pasta at home, but, we at Kitchen Porch love to dispel rumors. Come join us for a look into the mystery of making fresh and delicious pasta at home. We’ll demonstrate both traditional and modern techniques using equipment found in every home. You don’t need to be a professional chef to master this centuries-old technique.

Jan Buhrman, along with her chef Aaron Oster, will discuss the importance of flour, good eggs and how to get creative using the ingredients you see around you. Jan will explore different pasta shapes and sauces that encompass a wide range of culinary possibilities for the home cook and the adventurous host.

Recipes will include such classics as….

  • Garganelli – Hand Rolled Pasta
  • Tortellini – Stuffed Pasta
  • Pici Pasta – Long handmade pasta
  • Matagliati – Cut Pasta
  • Orrechietti – No knife pasta
  • Bigoli – Extruded Venetian Style Pasta

Along with each of these pasta’s we’ll include a different typical sauce to go along with it, and even demonstrate Chef Aaron’s super simple vegetarian tomato sauce!
