Poets from the Renaissance House will be host an Open Mic Night on Friday, September 23rd, at 8pm. The public is invited to listen to the works of three lady poets and enjoy a scumptious dessert!
The featured artists are:
- Lesago Malepe; South African author of Matter of Life and Death, the real life story of the hardships faced by an African family as they struggle to live under apartheid.
- Simone Monique Barnes; dedicated to the Arts for more than 18 years, she brings her incredible talents to us from an incredibly diverse backgorund.
- Fern Gillespie; the third of these amazing ladies, her resume includes: former talk show producer and assistant director of the NAACP, PR director of the Yari Yari Global Balck Women's Writer Conference, Studio Museum and Huggy Dolls, writer for Essence and Heart and Soul.
