When the summer rolls around and everyone would rather be outside, it’s hard to be enticed by a hot stove to prepare a meal. Jan Buhrman is here to tell you that you needn’t be confined to your ovens. She offers a menu of totally heat-free foods, all delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day!
Jan will discuss the benefits of a raw foods diet and how to prepare simple dishes in a way that will impress your friends and satisfy your appetite. All the fish and ingredients for this class are locally & sustainably grown and can be enjoyed without the need of any heat.

Recipes will Include:
- Tuna Tartare in Endive – Jalapenos, chives, lime and Lemon Oil
- Summer Gazpacho – Tomatoes, Basil, Parsley and Cucumber
- Zucchini Crudo – A delicate salad of shaved Zucchini with Lemon Juice, Chopped Thyme, Almonds & Parmigiano Reggiano
- Crudo Venitizana – Menemsha Fluke, Red Pepper Aioli and Chopped Capers and Shallots served with a salad of Chilmark Greens
- Fruit Granita – Fresh Island grown fruit, sugar and water, made into a simple shaved ice.
