On Jan 20 and 21, IMP presents theater by kids for kids at the Katharine Cornell Theater. 40 improvisers and actors ages 8 - 13 perform a unique, original show sure to entertain ages 1- 101. The improvisers will perform spontaneous theater based on audience suggestions. The actors will present Waking Beauty, a musical play written by Ross Mihalko, Donna Swift and Brian Weiland. These island authors give the audience a fresh look at the classic fairy tale - Sleeping Beauty. Mathida the fairy wasn’t invited to the party for the new princess Auroa. Not because she is evil, but she always gives the worst gifts. Despite their best efforts the fairies cannot stop Mathilda from causing disaster and making the whole kingdom fall asleep. Now she has to find the true love of the princess so everyone can wake up. Will they all be fooled by the evil prince Balderdash or will Mathilda find a way to save the day? This play has something for everyone, pretty, comic, evil and caring characters, a fun plot, and easy to sing tunes. Waking Beauty is the kind of show you dream about. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids and available at the door only. For more info call 508-939-9368 or go to the website: www.imp4kids.com.
