Massoud Kohistani: My Round Trip from Afghanistan to the USA and My Struggle to Return
Massoud will tell the story of his arrival with 40 other first time students from Afghanistan to spend a year with an American family and learn about Democracy. All did not go as planned but Massoud was fortunate enough to end up on Martha's Vineyard and spend a year with a loving and supportive family. This is the fascinating story of the life of a young man who would go on to complete his year at the high school with honors, participate in school sports, take part in social and community service events and very importantly, assimilate into the world of a young teenager in America.
Massoud's story continues as he tells of his return to face many challenges in his native country of Afghanistan and then his subsequent return to America with the help of Dyan Espindle and her endless advocating for his return to America to finish his education.
