Fall Steamship Authority Excursion Rates in Effect

It's that time of year: Excursion rates are now down to $59, offseason parking permits are available.

One of the most important harbinger of the changing season is now upon us: Lower Steamship Authority excursion fares and off-season parking permits go into effect today.

Passenger vehicles originating from Martha’s Vineyard and returning within one to 31 days are now eligible for excursion rates as low as $59 round-trip. The fare includes up to two adult and two child passengers.

To be eligible for the excursion fare, you must be a Martha’s Vineyard resident. Additionally, you must be listed on your town’s street list and provide both a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and vehicle registration form with an Island address to the Martha’s Vineyard Steamship Authority Reservation Office near the Martha’s Vineyard Airport.

Sign-up for the excursion program must be done in-person. The office is open daily, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Excursion rates for September 15 through December 21 are as follows:

  • Under 17' in length: $59
  • 17' but less than 20': $79
  • 20' but less than 22': $89
  • Extended Load beyond front or rear bumper: $12.50 each way

Additionally, off-season parking permits valid from September 15 through May 14 are now available for purchase online or at the Palmer Avenue Parking Lot Office in Falmouth. Off-season parking permits cost $425. Student parking permits are also available and are valid for the entire school year. Call 508-548-5011, ext. 291 for more details.
