Great White Sharks on Cape Cod: 5th Tagged This Summer

Cape Cod great white shark watch for summer 2016: five tagged so far.

Chatham, MA — Great white shark researchers on Friday tagged the fifth great white in Cape Cod waters.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy announced the tagging, which happened near Monomoy Island.

So far this summer, there have been a host of great white sightings on Cape Cod.

On Saturday, a 6-year-old boy fishing in Cape Cod Bay actually hooked a great white shark; the shark was cut free. Three more great whites were spotted on the eastern edge of the Cape.

And last month, another great white was detected near Chatham.
