Injured Fisherman Medevaced Near Nantucket

CHATHAM, MA — A fisherman with a "severe" laceration was medevaced near Nantucket Saturday.

The fisherman was aboard the fishing vessel "Illusion" when he suffered a "severe" laceration on his hand, the Coast Guard said.

Two Coast Guard boats were dispatched to the Illusion, where they loaded the fisherman aboard and transported him to Harwich. The rescue happened near the entrance to Great Round Shoal.

The Coast Guard medevaced another injured fisherman earlier this week near Chatham.
