A hearing will be held March 21, 2019 by the Martha's Vineyard Commission to place two 220,000 volt wind turbine electric cables off Chappaquiddick Island in Muskeget Channel.
Chappaquiddick Island is part of Edgartown Massachusetts. Chappaquiddick has occasional breaches that occur due to hurricanes and strong storms separating the islands for periods of time.

Proposal to install two undersea cables that will pass through Edgartown waters offshore of Chappaquiddick with two 220-kV export cables install underneath the sea floor to a depth of 5-8 feet using hydroplow or mechanical plow installation methods.

The Martha's Vineyard Commission is made up of 21 Commissioners elected by Vineyarders or appointed by elected officials, of whom 17 are eligible to vote on regulatory matters.
9 are elected by Vineyard voters in Island-wide elections held every two years,
6 are appointed on an annual basis by the Boards of Selectmen of the Towns on Martha's Vineyard,
1 is appointed on an annual basis by the Dukes County Commission,
5 are appointed by the Governor or member of the cabinet, four of whom do not vote on DRIs or DCPCs.
