Students' Harvest Celebrated at Edgartown's Back-to-School Bash
Edgartown School held its Open House, Health Fair, Garden Celebration and Potluck Dinner Wednesday night.
The annual open house at Edgartown School Wednesday evening was a festive combination of back-to-school night, health fair and farm-to-table dinner party.
Inside the school, families mingled with teachers and checked out health information at tables staffed by Island groups including the Youth Task Force, toured the classrooms and helped themselves to a sumptuous buffet that featured tomatoes and other produce from the students' extensive gardens.
Outside, while the light lasted, kids frolicked on the playground and around the raised vegetable beds as aromatic smoke rose from the burger-dog grill.
About 350 children attend Edgartown School in kindergarten through eighth grade. State standardized test results were released Friday: See Edgartown's here.
